therapy and having dinner together.
- Families create their own goals for treatment and collaborate with
staff in accomplishing their objectives.
- Programs offered to both English and Spanish speaking families.
As a strength-based, communication-enhancing program, TASP focuses on
building positive family relationships.
Hours of Operation
TASP - Intensive
4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Tuesday - Thursday
Adolescents attend each evening, with families joining them on Tuesday
evenings for dinner and activities.
TASP After Care
5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. Mondays
This program is reserved for those adolescents and their families who
have successfully completed the intensive portion of TASP. Both adolescents
and their families attend.
Who benefits from Therapeutic After School Program?
Emotionally and behaviorally troubled youth ages 12-15 and their families
who are:
- In need of more intensive services than weekly counseling alone.
- Depressed or anxious.
- Experiencing behavior problems at home and school.
- In serious conflict with their families.
Who would not be appropriate for TASP?
Although TASP will serve a wide range of issues with youth and their
families, the program is not designed to work with everyone. While each
case will be evaluated individually, the following concerns will be better
served elsewhere:
- Youth charged/adjudicated for violent or sexual crimes.
- Those actively suicidal or suffering from psychosis.
- Those with a primary or only diagnosis of substance abuse/dependence.
- Anyone with significant developmental or cognitive delays.
