Kalin Burke joined the staff of the Salesmanship Club Family Works Center
as its inception as a Parent Educator in 2006. Burke holds a B.A. from
The University of Texas at Dallas and specializes in researching and writing
her own parent training curricula. Before joining the SCYFC staff, Burke
served as a Shaken Baby Syndrome and SIDS Educator with the Child Abuse
Prevention Center. Her passion is developing innovative ways to help teen
parents transition into parenthood to be the best parents they can possibly
be.

Minerva E. Holmes, Bachelor of Arts and
Science

Minerva E. Holmes is a bilingual parent educator at the Salesmanship
Club Family Works Center with a Bachelor of Arts and Science from Dallas
Baptist University. Prior to joining the Family Life Education (FLE) team,
Minerva worked as a Family Advocate for the Child Care Group and Mi Escuelita
Preschool, where she specialized in working with families in obtaining
community resources to become self-sufficient. Holmes works to help families
improve their family life through gaining insights and tools needed to
better parent their children.

Maria Treviño-Powers, M.S.S.W.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Maria is a clinical social worker and Director of Family Life Education
for the Family Works Center. Prior to joining the staff of SCYFC in 1996,
Maria worked with young children and adolescents experiencing psychiatric
disorders in both in-patient and out-patient settings at Dallas County
MHMR (currently known as Dallas Metrocare). In addition, she gained experience
and knowledge in the field of child abuse and domestic violence through
her work at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center. Maria specializes
in working with children and families as well as providing parent education.
